Medical Kiwi today became the first South Island-based company to be granted a cultivation licence by the Ministry of Health
We’re thrilled to have been granted the cultivation licence,” says Chairman Aldo Miccio. “In just eight months, our experienced business and science-based Board of Directors has developed a clear strategy that is already on track and the cultivation licence is another important milestone. It puts us in a unique position as one of only a handful of companies poised to create value and carve out a significant share of the emerging medicinal cannabis industry in New Zealand and the global opportunities it represents.
The licence will allow Medical Kiwi to cultivate cannabis for research and development which is central to advancing the medicinal cannabis industry. “We intend to develop safe, high-quality, accessible medicinal and wellbeing products including oils, balms, tinctures, sprays and creams,” says Director Michael Packer.
Michael talks more about our research and development plans here.
