This industry will change the way the world delivers its health outcomes.

“There’s a lot to like about what Medical Kiwi is setting out to achieve. I like the idea of supporting a local company that is starting from scratch. I like the idea of employing and upskilling local people. And I like the health benefits that medical cannabis can provide.” – Shane Adamson, Medical Kiwi shareholder.

Until recently, cannabis has been a globally prohibited substance with the vast majority of people unaware of its medicinal properties and those who have wanted to use it facing crippling costs and zero or severely restricted supply. Scientists believe the chemical molecules in cannabis can provide a range of physical and psychological health benefits. Medicinal cannabis is in demand overseas in Western countries who have already legalised the cultivation, production and use of the product, and as scientists continue to learn more about its therapeutic benefits and pharmaceutical uses, the demand is increasing. Significant changes in New Zealand’s legislation have paved the way for the creation of a fully commercialised medical cannabis and CBD industry. A major opportunity now exists for companies to leverage New Zealand’s provenance, reputation for innovation and areas of competitive advantage to cultivate, produce and sell medicinal cannabis and CBD wellbeing products domestically and globally.

Medical Kiwi is in a unique position as one of a handful of New Zealand companies poised to create value and carve out a significant share of this emerging and exciting growth industry. The global opportunity that medicinal cannabis represents is estimated to reach USD $150 billion by 2025. (Grand View Research, April 2018)

Against the backdrop of a global health and wellness consumer mega-trend, and with sentiments and legislation towards alternative medicines, and medicinal cannabis in particular, rapidly evolving, the time is now to participate in the opportunity that Medical Kiwi represents.

Medical Kiwi successfully completed seed funding in 2019. During this phase shares were offered for sale to early investors. This enabled Medical Kiwi to secure a leased factory in Christchurch,  and apply for licenses to cultivate, manufacture and grow medicinal cannabis.

Complete
Our crowdfunding campaign was expected to run 17 August-17 September 2020, but closed early as it was fully subscribed.  This was an opportunity for everyday investors to own a share in our future.
